Biography
biography DJ Vibe, whose real name is António Pereira, is a Portuguese house music DJ and producer. He was born in Lisbon, in 1968, and began his musical career at the age of 15. He began playing in clubs where he quickly stood out for his technique and musical selection, performing alongside names such as Paul Oakenfold, Tony Humphries, Roger Sanchez and Danny Tenaglia. He formed a partnership with Rui da Silva, another Portuguese DJ and producer, where they created the Underground Sound of Lisbon project, which in 1994 released the hit “So Get Up”, with lyrics and voice by Ithaka Darin Pappas, a song that reached number 1 on Billboard magazine's Club Chart and became an electronic music anthem. From then on, DJ Vibe began to be invited to play in clubs around the world, such as Ministry of Sound (London), Pacha (Ibiza), Stereo (Montreal), Deep (Madrid), Vinyl (New York), Release (San Francisco), among others. DJ Vibe is a producer and remixer, having worked for artists such as DJ Jiggy, Danny Tenaglia, Kristine W, Yoko Ono and others. He was the co-founder of Kaos Records, the first dance music label in Portugal, which he created in 1992 with António Cunha and Rui da Silva. Through Kaos Records, he released his own records and invested in new talents from the national electronic scene and was involved in other projects such as LHT, NYLX, Sonic Hunters and Meco. DJ Vibe is also a radio communicator, having presented programs such as “4º Bairro” on Rádio Comercial, “Dance Floor” on Antena 3 and “Global Grooves” on Mega FM, he was responsible for mixing several compilations for Kaos Records and other international labels, such as Twisted America Records and Intergroove. DJ Vibe is considered one of the best Portuguese DJs of all time and one of the most respected in the world of house music, performing regularly in Portugal and abroad.
