biography Quim Barreiros is a popular Portuguese singer who plays the accordion, famous for his double-meaning lyrics, usually of a tone considered brejeiro. He was born on June 19, 1947 in Vila Praia de Âncora, Minho, and started playing the accordion at the age of eight, alongside his father, who was part of a dance group. At the age of nine, he was already playing drums at Carnival parties and at the age of 15 he moved to Lisbon, where he frequented fado houses and began recording his songs. In the mid-70s, he discovered his own voice as a singer and dedicated himself to fun and fun rhymes, mixing elements of Minho culture with influences from other musical genres. Since then, he has released several successful albums, such as “A Garagem da Vizinha”, “A Cabritinha”, “Bacalhau à Portuguesa” and “Use Álcool”.
