biography Tiago de Albergaria Pinheiro Goulart de Bettencourt was born on September 16, 1979 in Coimbra, Portugal. Tiago Bettencourt is a Portuguese singer and composer. He attended Colégio D. Luísa Sigea in Estoril. Bettencourt was the lead singer of the band Toranja. In 2003, they released their first album Esquissos, which sold more than 60,000 copies. However, the band announced an indefinite hiatus in 2006. After Toranja, Bettencourt left Portugal and went to Canada to record his first solo album at the Hotel2Tango studios in Montreal. The result of the recording sessions was released as O Jardim in 2007, where the song “Canção Simples” was a great success. His second album, Em Fuga, was released in 2010, followed by Tiago Na Toca & Os Poetas in 2011 and Acústico in 2012. In 2014, Do Principio was released, consisting of 12 songs. In 2020 Tiago Bettencourt released 2019 Rumo ao Eclipse where he talks to us about choices, struggles, pain and indignation, detachment, relief, acceptance, home and freedom. Some of Tiago Bettencourt's most famous songs include “Morena”, “Carta”, “Canção De Engate”, “Pó De Arroz”, “Aquilo Que Eu Não Faz”, “O Jogo”, “Pássaro”, “Canção Simples” and “Se Cuidas De Mim”.
