Deolinda

biography Deolinda is a Portuguese popular music band inspired by fado and its traditional origins. This band emerged in 2006, when Pedro da Silva Martins presented four songs to the remaining members of the group: Ana Bacalhau (voice), Zé Pedro Leitão (double bass) and Luís José Martins (classical guitar). The four created the fictional character of Deolinda, a Lisbon woman, single, traditionalist and fan of Amália, Variações, Zeca Afonso and Sérgio Godinho. The band's first album, Canção ao Lado, was released in 2008 and reached third place on the AFP official top chart. The album received several awards, including gold, platinum and double-platinum.
