biography Alberto Ferreira Paulo, better known by his stage name Paulo Gonzo, is a Portuguese singer born in Lisbon on November 1, 1956. He was the founder of the group Go Graal Blues Band, with which he recorded albums such as Go Graal Blues Band, White Traffic and So Down Train. In 1984, he began a solo career, releasing the album My Desire in 1986 with only covers. In 1992, he released his first album sung in Portuguese, Pedras da Calçada, which contains a first version of the song Jardins Proibidos. In November 1993, the compilation “My Best” was published with his greatest hits in English. The album Fora d’Horas, produced by Frank Darcel, was released in 1995. In 1997, Paulo Gonzo released the compilation Almost Everything, which achieved the feat of going Sêxtupla Platinum. Some of his most famous songs include “Jardins Proibidos”, “Dei-te Almost Tudo”, “Sei-te de Cor”, “Leve Beijo Triste” and “So Do I”. Paulo Gonzo has already won several musical awards in Portugal. He won best male voice at the Blitz Awards in 1995 and won a Golden Globe in 1998.
