Garage music is a genre of rock, which originated in the 1960s and featured raw, energetic sounds influenced by blues, surf rock and R&B, as well as its revival in the 1980s and 2000s. Some examples of Portuguese garage music artists are The Parkinsons (garage rock), Buraka Som Sistema (electronic garage music), DJ Ride (electronic garage music) and The Gift (electronic garage music).
