Festa do Avante 2026: A Grande Festa da Cultura e da Solidariedade

Quinta da Atalaia, na Amora (Seixal)

From September 4th to 6th, 2026, the Quinta da Atalaia in Amora (Seixal) will once again open its gates for the Festa do Avante!. Built entirely by volunteer labor, this temporary "city" on the banks of the Tagus River offers an experience unlike any other—a crossroads of political engagement, social gathering, regional gastronomy, and a cultural program that remains unparalleled in Portugal.

✨ What Makes This Festival Unique?
Festa do Avante! stands out for its intergenerational atmosphere and immense diversity. For three days, Atalaia becomes a meeting point where political debate lives harmoniously alongside sports, theater, cinema, and fine arts. It is a celebration of community and the joy of collective work.

🎭 2026 Program Highlights
• Music (Stage 25 de Abril): The main stage continues to be a showcase for the best of Lusophone and international music. In 2026, expect a lineup celebrating freedom, featuring major names in rock, protest music, and Fado, culminating in the iconic Symphonic Concert on Sunday morning.

• Regional Gastronomy: One of the festival's biggest draws. In the Regional Organizations' area, you can travel through Portugal via flavor—from the arroz de sarrabulho of the North to Alentejo's açorda, not forgetting traditional convent sweets and fresh coastal seafood.

• Culture and Sports: The Science Space, the Youth City, the Fine Arts Biennial, and Avanteatro (theater) offer a dense program proving that the "Festa" has something for every taste and age.

• Children’s Space: A dedicated area for the little ones with traditional games, workshops, and puppet shows, making it a truly family-friendly event.

🏕️ Life at Atalaia
For those traveling from afar, the campsite at Quinta da Atalaia offers a privileged view of the Tagus River and a unique atmosphere of brotherhood. It is the place where stories are shared and lifelong friendships are forged.
